1957 4 door pathfinder parting out

I'm parting out a 1957 pathfinder. It has a running 261 with a powerglide that is in running condition also. I'd like $500.00 for it. I'm using the front clip and frame for a 2 door sedan car but I have alot of other parts off it for sell. Front and rear seats are in really nice condition and complete $300.00. The 4 doors are in good condition with just a little rust in the rear doors only. The body is solid with small amount of rust in drivers side floor pan. The body and doors would be a good deal for someone looking for a body with little work needed to make a nice driver. $500.00 Lots of small pieces also email with any needs. I live in northwest Montana

Thanks,

Joe

This is probably crazy talk, but any chance the rear bumper guards (oval pods) are still there?

Not even a slim chance. Tough to come by. I have a friend that has a machine shop and when he get's some free time he's going to see about manufacturing new ones !!

That's what I thought , but you don't know unless you ask right? Somebody ought to step up and repop these, shouldn't be tough to sell enough to justify the cost no?

You certainly would think so and i totally agree with you. This is a common part to go unless it is a desert car. One time i went to Carlisle and spoke to an American Pontiac parts dealer and he told me that they were being reproduced a number of years ago then stoped. Two years ago at Carlisle i ran into a bumper vendor who had a complete rear bumper with a flawless rechrome job, price $1,200. A bit much considering i already rechromed my own bumper. This same guy told me that he gets $600 for the pair with new chrome on those 57 Pontiac oval end caps. Cheers. George.

Roger that 1957 Pontiac looks fairly solid from the photos. Seems a real shame that the old girl has to give up her life to be a parts car. Any thoughts on the matter? Any reasons why? I it is so amazing that some cars that are really gone, that should be parts cars get fixed. Then there are solid cars that should be restored but instead they are parted out. Any thoughts on the matter. George.

That car does look very solid, and a Laurentien to boot. Anyway, if you do part it, I'd be VERY interested in the end caps if they're not rusted through.
