No that I hear the sound I may be able to help.
 If you sandblasted the inside of your hood it may be sand. If not I would say rust running inside the inner hood bracing.
 Remove the hood then tilt one way, then another way, then another, then back again and again and again and again and again.........until everything falls out of the small holes. Then start lining up bigger pieces with large holes and pull them out with a pick or small screwdriver.
