headliner on a 57


Hi,

must  the rear window be out to install a new headliner on a 57 Laurentian?

Thanks to the intrepid guys who know the answer after an risky experience...

Don't think you have to remove glass, just the trim around the glass & along the sides of roof. My neighbour did one on his 60 T-Bird, never had done this before, need 2 people to do it, lots of patience[ & BEER] but it turned out very good, 1 small pucker in sail panel that you really have to look for to see it!!! OH ya, don't forget to # the cross bows so you don't get them "mixed"up

The cross bows are coloured coded. The parts catalogue has the coding for them as to the correct positioning. Installing a fabric headling is easier than a vinyl one as the vinyl sometimes needs to be steamed to get all the wrinkles out. Make sure all the tack strips and the nailing or stapling strips are firmly installed and glued securely in place.
