1970 Pontiac 2+2. Originally a 350 car but now has an original 454 LS5 drivetrain from a 1970 Safari wagon. 3,000 miles on completely rebuilt engine. Turbo 400 with 12 bolt rearend. 49,200 original miles. Frame, floors and trunk perfect. Original car from out west. Power windows. Rare " air " option, uses fans to power air movement through kick panel vents. Rear defrost, AM-FM. Interior excellent, no rips or cracks in any seat, dash or panel. Original carb, alternator, distributor, 4core Harrison rad, and air cleaner. New Michelins. Body very good with a few small blemishes. Car was factory red, someone has changed it to this burgundy-red
yup, that looks like Dave the dentist's car. I saw it briefly in 2002 when passing through London, he let me take a look at it. I didn't know it was originally a 350 car. I remember noting at the time that it had a Corvette passenger side exhaust manifold. I've seen the air option a couple times, and would really like to take a good look to see how it works. I think Dave got this car along with the yellow/black 2+2 hardtop from BC in the mid 90's, he sold the yellow/black one in 2002 to a buddy of mine from New Jersey.

Did this car get the engine and tranny from the famous red Safari that was the Fire Chief's car out west and parted out by a couple of our members here in Ontario ?

I agree. That looks like a good deal! Pretty car too, original or not I like the colour.
Good looking car and a fun cruiser for someone at a reasonable price.
That air system is very unusual, is it something other than conventional air conditioning, sort of a powerful fan with extra floor vents?
Anyone know the story on this, and how many cars came with it?
Like I said above, I've seen it a couple times, including an NOS switch on ebay a number of years ago. I think it is just a fan within the vent area that blows oustide air (from the cowl) through either the astro vents or the kick panel vents. It is pretty rare.
I also noticed the "Defog" switch is the type with the green light, used when the car has the wires across the rear window. The Canadian cars didn't use that in 1970, but the US cars did.
