hello from new zealand

hello

im in new zealand and have a canadian built 1966 pontiac laurentian 4dr, they sold these cars in new zealand and australia brought in as kits, how many im not sure?

from the info i have my car is more chev than pontiac has a 283ci and powerglide,12 bolt rear end etc. and on a chev chassis. im finding it hard to get parts for this as all the internet sites i try seem to be in the u.s.a and because the car was not sold there they dont understand what car i have.

what i would like is to talk(on forum or email) to someone who knows this model so i can work out, yes i can just order an impala part for it ,or no its only pontiac specific etc

parts im after so far, are a new boot(trunk) floor which im assuming is a pontiac part not chev (maybe chev)?

sum interior fittings most look the same as impala?

a full suspension bush kit

these are just to get the ball rolling

any help would be great

thanks ben

Hey Ben,

Welcome!

Your car would use a '66 Chevy (Impala etc.) boot floor, the same for the bushing kit. All the mechanicals and frame, and some body parts (floors, braces etc.) are '66 Chevy. Some interior pieces are shared with '66 Chevys (armrests, light lenses etc.), but some are Canadian Pontiac specific. Some trim pieces (mirrors, Pontiac arrowheads) are shared with U.S. Pontiacs. Are you confused yet?

I'm speaking from my '64 Parisienne experiences so far. There are a couple '66 fanatics on here with more info. for you. I mostly hear of Parisiennes in New Zealand and Oz. as opposed to Laurentians.

Do you have any pics?

Welcome from Saskatchewan! Yes, our cars are different from our American counterparts from just beyond the visual!

And speaking of visual, pictures are always welcomed!!!

yeah that diff was in a holden kingswood did not mean to put that up. yeah its pretty good cond apart from center of boot(trunk) floor which has rusted out, think that is due to some sort of matting they put between floor and fuel tank and it gets damp and stays damp.

im pretty sure ive got galv sills on car because it came from canada aswell which means no rust hopefully.

so what parts place or online sites do you guys use for bits? i.e the trunk floor, turn switch etc. bearing in mind they have to be able to ship to New Zealand, ive been looking at "impala bobs" any other sites i could try?

The "stars" that go on the rear quarters are not reproduced that I know of.

Some one on here may have a set. Post your want lists in the parts wanted section, and you might get some better responses Ben.
