My rescue from the scrap truck.

Here is my 1969 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible. Price free biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

350 2bbl auto Black int bench seat

I drove it home with bringing a battery filling up two tires and $20 of Premium gas. Rides like a boat.....back springs are shot no back brakes and needs a new muffler.

One of the women that worked with my wife knew I was into cars and her father had this for 40 years and he past away and ask me If I wanted it site unseen. 3 months later she told me to pick it up. They were going to donate it to a school and no one wanted it and the other was a scrap truck for $50

I don't know what I'm going to do with it confuseconfuse It drove nice and the kids liked it as well, but as for body panels and fixing it up......I won't have much success with parts

Wow Kim you might be only the second owner if he had it for 40 years. Looks really solid from what I can see, you got your goat done just in time for this.

I think the boy is falling in love with it. Lower it, bondo it, give it a flat black paint job with 20 inch rims, and wallahh!! Pimp my ride!!

Exactly. I am a little confused why we would think a school should take a car like this in the first place, its over 40 year old technology and would have very little if any training benefit for students to learn on a car from some by gone era.

With respect to the car it is always neat to get a free car and something like this with lots of cool appeal for a hobbyist is magazine article worthy. If only it was a Poncho, as I know the editor of a nationally circulated Pontiac publication.

The 4 door 60 Laurentian that I scrapped was the same kind of story. They tried to donate it to a school and the school refused it. Met a guy at one of the cruise nites and he told me the story. Gave him my phone # and the next night the owner called and said I could come pick it up.

Nice score!  I love those Skylarks!

I'm definitely living on the wrong coast!  Around here, an "old car" sitting in somebody's yard would be something from the '90s...  The days of scoring a car like that are long gone.

I was looking at Year One on productions #'s and it dosen't show the 350-2 confuseconfuse

I wonder if those 1/4's they got would fit?

Didn't we have a Buick guy on here

I thank the fellow members for offering space for this non Pontiac.

That's strange as I believe the 350-2 was the most common engine in those cars.
