The one nice thing is it has the hard to find rear panel trim.  Most of the clones are missing that one important item!

Nice looking car.

thats correct-I had a spare set a few years back-sold via e-bay @ $600 thought I did well-but low and behold that is the toughest to get

this car had a nice body-I don't believe it was a stripe car if I remember correctly so not sure why there were no emblem holes-I think it had original quarters

I'm happy its an automatic or I could get myself in real trouble-I'd like to have this car but I'm about $26,000 short

What does everyone think ?

What is reality in your opinion ? What will it sell for in today's economy ? I believe its priced fair and likely will bring 20k but let's not forget David's convertible selling in the low 20's and Chader's new purchase

What's it worth ?

What was it originally born as?

Is it a 738 car?

Is it a real SD car?

Is is a real BB car?

What the original trans  auto/4spd?

What the original color combo

If it is a real 738,  was it a bucket or bench car?

Is is slopped with undercoating?

Rust?  Correct details?  Numbers? GM docs? etc, etc, etc.

All this affects value and based on the answers to the above questions the value could be anywhere from 3500 to 35000.

Well put! Just not enough info to put a price on it. It does look nice for the money though. If I were shopping for one his phone would be ringing.

 SD396 325 hp 400 turbo

73817 car

yes-all 738 cars are SD

yes all 738 cars are BB

Auto THM400 - M40 on the cowl tag

not sure-believe the outside was correct

A51 and D55

under was dry-Alberta car-does not appear overly patched up

no visible rust-correct details are off as per pictures-didn't check the numbers at the time-has GM docs sold new in Alberta

Honestly, the way things are, I would bet on it hitting high teens unless there's that one boomer out there who had one new and he's been working on the oilfields for a couple of years. Then he'd just step up and pay the asking without a second thought.

Seriously, how far would $22,000 take you on a restoration of a car like that? Maybe 1/2 way at best. So, looking at it that way, it's a deal. As far as buying it and hoping to break even or make a buck in the spring, I'm not so sure.

I like it      I would pay 17-18 for it   to allow for some  little things like weatherstriping and  vintage air..

To follow along the whats it worth theme... it would certainly be a great shopping comparison with the quebec car... the missing trim isn't too expensive, it has the rear tail panel peice which is the most expensive! The interior hurts it a bit, what is that worth to replace? around $2k installed?

I also wonder if the quebec car is a sports option car? it has an sbc now, which hurts a the value a little compared to having a 396 underhood imo, but it looks like a nicer car in the pictures.

shiky, the ride height on that car looks stock to me... the rear springs are the easiest thing to change on that car, and will run you maybe $150-200...a floor jack and two bolts and you will have it sitting anyway you want...

I would think "whats under the paint" is what will determine the value the most on those two cars... it's hard to tell from pictures... and if they were rusted out SD bodys people would be asking $4k+ for them with eaten up interiors and no engines.... so either price is well under the build price and blood sweat and tears!
