1968 Beaumont 4dr sedan.Just purchased off original owner.Car is excellent underneath and interior is excellent.Body has some rust heels of front fenders but overall pretty clean with two or three dents in body.307 V8 a/trans,column shift with 126,000 miles, runs great. If this car was a 2drht it would be worth megabucks but being a 4dr sdn not sure of value.Do your research and make me an offer. Will not respond to anything ridiculous!Pictures to follow.

I like it very much, in fact it is almost identical to my first car that I owned back in 1980... except that mine had rust, chalky paint, a bent bumper and broken taillight! biggrin

Any opinions on what the price of this car should be?

$4,000---I have seen them as high as 6 and 7000 but $4,000 is reality

I like the car but to many the 4-door is a huge stigma

The dealer sticker on the trunk lid "Mid-Town".  Would that have been the original selling dealer?  Doesn't look late sixties to me (I thought most dealers used the chrome diecast badges back then).

We have seen a combination of both, check out our thread on dealer emblems, I can think of a particular 64 CS that has a decal and not chrome plate.

Just got back from looking there.  Should'a done it before I made the comment.  Actually it occurred to me after the fact that I was looking at a 1969 Plymouth with original paint that had a dealer emblem that was a decal as well...

I was more wondering if anybody was familiar with that dealer.  I did a google search and found a Mid Town Motors in Ingersoll that's been in business since 1938... could that be the one?

A name like Mid-Town is fairly generic though - I'm sure every province had at least one... we had one locally back in the day.

That would be cool if it could be bought for 4k, i'd go for that! All the stuff i see is overpriced junk it seems. I guess i just don't have a sense of valuation when an ad like this comes up.

Somebody buy this... please!

Like I said earlier, it's almost identical to my first car and I'm having a hard time resisting the urge to arrange for purchasing.  The draw of fulfilling an unreqited love (I never actually drove the car... bought it when I was 15 for $200, worked on it over a year in anticipation of getting my license at 16, and eventually sold it as it had deteriorated even more from sitting in the wet NS climate for that time... it was too much for an inexperienced 15-year-old to stay on top of) is getting to be too strong to resist.

If this car were in my home province I'd probably already have purchased it!  Fortunately it's in another province and I have a hard time buying a car sight unseen, so I've been able to stay away from it so far.

Luckily for me, my schedule is so tight for the next few weeks that I don't have time to take it any further right now... so somebody please buy this car and remove the temptation!  biggrin

Buy it if it is available. You can always sell it if you later change your mind.

Ok, i just got off the phone with the guy selling the car. He works at a wrecker and got a call from the elderly owner of the car who wanted to get rid of it. I think he wanted them to just take it for scrap. So this guy took a look and saw what it was and decided to keep it. He hasn't got a lot invested and he's putting the ownership in his name to be able to sell it. The person he's getting it off of are the original owners, car apparently bought in Montreal. This guy says the exhaust is new, bushings have been done, rear shocks too. He hasn't looked at the brakes but seem fine. Solid underneath he says those rust spots mentioned could go through if you use a grinder, same on the back in one spot. Trunk is clean, gas tank too. It was still current license when he got it. Has owners manual and a shop manual too. Since 1995 been driven something like 30k, there was an old oil change sticker in the ashtray. Guy seems like a straight shooter. He's really wanting someone to look at the car before taking any money on it.
Is there anyone in Peterborough who could look at it for me???
Let me know so i can message him and set something up.

Just bumping this up. My schedule won't let me get away for the next few weekends to see the car and i can't take any time off during the week from work right now. Can anyone go look for me, or know someone who wouldn't mind having a look and letting me know what they think. I'm sure it is in great shape this guy was pretty insistant i at least have someone take a look before going any further on it with me. I liked that, some people out there would just take the cash.
