Center console installation

Hi guys, been reading for a while now, excellent knowledge base. I'm putting together a 68 post car, factory 6 cyl, 73327 vin. ST 68 73327 tR 778 on the body tag. I'm trying to install the console that came with the car but it seems to sit too high off the carpet and there's no brackets for the rear of the console so I think it may have been a bench seat car. Does anyone have a pic of their bare floor in a factory bucket/console car? I'll try to post some pics when I'm at a real computer. Thanks

What body style is this?    I have a complete floor section from a 68 Grande Parisienne that was a bucket seat / console car that I can take a photo of, but is this what you're looking for?

It's a Beaumont, not sure if a Grand Parisienne is the same. If it is that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the responses. So what I'm getting is the trim code says it definitely was a bench car, but the shift cable is already through the floor so a past owner may have had a console in it. It looks like it may have had the rear floor pan done so maybe they didn't replace the rear console bracket. The pics in the PDF link were great for an idea. There are not any brackets for buckets so I don't know what was ther to go win the console. Ive fabricated bracket to mount recovered 90's camaro buckets. If I set the shifter on top of the carpet I get the big gap at the front of the console, do you guys recommend mounting the shifter to the floor and cutting the carpet around it or should the shifter be on top of the carpet?

Personally I think the shifter has always been mounted metal to metal. I would see it being wobbly if it had a cushion of carpet under it.

Good point, I'm gonna mount it to the metal, build a rear bracket For the console and try to bring the carpet up inside the console to fill the gap. Thanks for the comments. Is there an easy way to tell if the shifter I have is for a 2 or 3 speed, I'm still trying to find the proper bracket and lever for the th350 so I can't tell if I'm getting the proper travel for the 3 speed and I can't quite figure which gate positions are for which gear.

Does anyone know where to get the console brackets as shown in 68SDs post above?
