so what would you guys think the going price would be for one, i have a idea, but would like your input.

i documented this car over the phone today , willies going to purchase it , as long as its not totally destroyed.

id like to be quiet untill tommorow ,but whats your ideas on what you would pay.

it does need some type of resto , this is not a show car from what i can tell over the phone

heres the list

1- if its good for parts only (it does have the 396 , its a automatic, not sure if the trim is there )

2-needs total resto  (all panels and floors etc. but  repariable)

3 decent driver quality (solid but needs detailing ,paint etc..

4 show car condition (but its not)

5K if it's matching numbers and someone is willing to transfer everything.

2-needs total resto  (all panels and floors etc. but  repariable)

7-8K maybe?

3 decent driver quality (solid but needs detailing ,paint etc..

Mid teens?

4 show car condition (but its not)

These days, 30's at best?

I'd love to say it's more in show condition but honestly, I bet it wouldn't bring upper 30's-40K. Maybe there is that one rich guy out there wanting one but.......

I heard about one down this way in St Anns but could never find it

I like Carl's prices but he's also probably right--remember the rebodied hardtop that nobody wanted @ $12,000 in a good market near you ?

rare find-good luck

no offense on the 68 but I prefer a 67 too --- tough market either way

Yes, don't buy it thinking you'll get rich on it reselling!

I'm thinking now of the 67 that Chader bought. I don't know if you guys recall the asking price but that one is a very nice driver and as Ken mentioned, a 67 will bring more than a 68, certainly.

However, don't back away from this one just because it's maybe not worth as much. What a rare car to find!

I'm excited for you Fred, even more excited that you'd have to get rid of that F word...!!!

I've gotta say that I sure would expect to pay more than these prices.  The drivetrain plus a few rare trim parts are worth more than the $5k figure above; I know several people that have paid mid-teens for a clone in driver condition so a REAL SD convertible in driver condition should get close to $20k (I'd pay that); and a show condition SD convert (depending on quality or workmanship, colour, etc.) is worth (to me) what it will cost me to restore mine.

great-now lets get our ears to the ground and find the one out here too then-we need to get them all outta hiding

sounds like Helmut is interested for more than Carl's quote if Willie wants to make the sinful "quick flip"
