Who was the lead designer at GM for the Beaumont? Does anyone know if the tooling still exists at GM for the Beaumont stuff?

I wonder if it was Paul W Gillan, who was at Pontiac by 1958: he handled the Envoy conversion from the Vauxhall Victor for the Canadian market. He told me many years ago that as regards the conversion of Chevies to Canadian Pontiacs, this tended to be done by GM of Canada Engineering, referring back to Warren, MI (GM Design HQ). I think Clare Mackichan was head of Chevy design at the time; he later left and went to Adam Opel in Russelsheim and came up with the Opel GT.

I think the tooling hit the dumpster.. as did the microfiche files on all the casting references. I looked into the companies that cast the pot metal parts and I was told that all the information on who did it and where, was sent to the GM head office in the states.. so that means.. the dumpster.
too bad.. those molds would be great to get a hold of.
