I have seen black or white tail letters on both. It was thought on a SD that the tail letter color matched the color of the side trim but after discussing it with other Beaumont owners this is not the case either.

There does not seem to be any consistency according to color or date of manufacture.

the one above is a white stipe car and the letters are black

Just checked, my 68 custom has black,68 deluxe has white.

Henry's car is a real oddball and according to Bill (from pictures when it was almost new) this is how it came from the factory.

White SD stripe, black insert side trim, black tail panel trim, white letters.

Interesting that GM always showed 68 738 model letters for service as white, while the 68 736 models were serviced as black. This is listed the same in any Beaumont parts catalogue that I have seen.

Either the factory, the parts department or the printer didn't get the memo.
