It's pretty strange what some people will do to a car. From the pic's it looks like a lot of fabrication time went into it. He probably could have devoted that time to restoring a Mopar to original and made or got most of his labour money back!
Reminds me of the Impala I saw at the All GM Show in St Paul this year. Was an absolute joke. Poor and cheesy workmanship. Guy had a trophy in the trunk for "Best in Show - Pebble Beach Car Show"... Lambo doors... Pink fur on the dash board... very ill fitting seat covers... bondo patches everywhere... wires hanging out from the dash...
I was thinking, at first, it was a joke but I overheard a conversation that the owner was having with someone and he was dead serious... in his mind anyways. Said he bought the car at a police auction in Los Angeles... that the car was part of a forfeiture from the biggest drug dealer in town... the lines of crap were flying...
My buddy Richard and I just walked away laughing...

Some folks are a legend in their own mind. I worked with a guy like that. His self proclaimed accomplishments were really something: He claims to have rebuild several burnt out buildings He wins awards for car stereo installations He was a master at martial arts He was the brains behind the gold plated Cragar SS wheel and wrote Cragar about it and they stole his idea He advised Ford Motor Co on the Fox body Mustang He outran a police helicopter in a buddy's Camaro after putting a cam in it He had a factory prototype Malibu with an aluminum head 305, 4 speed. GM knocked on his door "begging" to buy it back. He kicked them off his property He made his own toothpaste (he had wicked bad breath by the way) and deoderant He built a 500hp 406 small block He was a master with any gun Plus many more. We figured with all his accomplishments he had to be about 120 years old.
LOL. It isn't you. I also worked with another guy (same place-an auto plant) who said that General Schwarzkopf called him at the beginning of Desert Storm and asked him to help direct Desert Storm. He said he replied "NOW LOOK- I have to build cars! I WILL NOT HELP YOU!" and he hung up on him.
You meet all kinds of interesting people in an auto plant.
