Hi,

I just acquired a 1967 Parisienne 2+2 convertible.  Some from MB may recognize the car as it was on Kajiji for a while.  I do have some questions about the car though.  Where can I get the VIN decoded as the previous owner stated the car was originally a 327 car (currently has a 307) and I want to confirm what the original engine was. (VIN #7686771145235)  Also, does anyone know where in Winnipeg I can go to order/buy replacement carpet? 

 

The car is in great shape body wise, but needs new carpet, the console is slightly damaged in the rear and much of the weatherstripping around the side windows require replacing.  So there is some work needed to still be dine while I drive this really nice BIG car.  I traded an 94 V6 Mustang for the car so I'm hyped to own my first vintage car. Very much looking forward to driving this car next spring and summer...

I saw that car advertised, yes. Looks to be a nice car.

For carpet, I bought from NOS Reproductions who has an ad at the top of this page and was extremely satisfied with all aspects of their customer service as well as the carpet itself.

68sd will take care of as much decoding as can be done if you can give him the numbers off the cowl (firewall) tag.

Oh, and every couple of months, completely at random, a group of us meet at Robin's just north of the Mint for an evening of coffee and tons of fun. Keep watching here in the lounge and you will normally see it posted up here about a week or so ahead of time. We usually have about 8-10 guys and have had as many as 14 show up for the evening.

What part of the city are you in?

 biggrin I'm afraid it's a lot more than "Carl's coffee night"!!! It would be pretty lonely if I sat at that Robin's all night by myself.....

Our last one was pretty loud in there. I could hardly believe how many conversations were going at the same time among our group.

And as always, we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves.

Will have to get out to a coffee night..although I much prefer Timmies..LoL! 68SD I don't have the cowl tag info written down just yet, but I will get it tomorrow and post it. Carl, I live in Westwood so Lag is a bit of a drive..but if given enough notice I can make my way out there...

67Poncho I can definitely use some help, both my clock and radio don't work, and the rear of the console is damaged so I'll be either looking for another, or assistance in fixing the one I have...

Not to concerned on the paint code other than it would be nice to know what colour the car was originally. I already know the colour it is painted is not a GM colour. The down side is that I don't have a paint code for it, and there is a chip that needs to be repaired...

So there you go 68SD...hopefully you can tell me something good...like hopefully this isn't Frankencar sitting in my garage...Lol!!

Wow,

 

Thanks 68SD!  So at least my car is still blue, but is definitely NOT Nantucket Blue, but does have a white top and the blue interior.  The 327 and Turbo 400 are gone replaced with a 307 and turbo 350....

 

Oh and the rear speaker is there too..but the radio doesn't seem to work...

I don't really like the Prime Stars...but in no rush to replace them..need to fix the important things like the carpet, window rubber gaskets that sort of thing...but the imprtant things like the body and floors are all solid!  Do need the Arrowhead for the front bumper though if anyone has one floating around...
