Can anyone help me out with a wiring diagram for the AM radio? I'm wanting to install a hidden stereo to keep the original. The new radio has about 154 wires- I need to know how to hook them up. Any suggestions or wiring diagrams help would be a PLUS!!
That would be fantastic and Thank you Carl! Glad to be here! I just bought this car and I'm excited to get working on it!! I'll have plenty of questions as the project comes along!
As soon as I get some more good pictures I'll upload it--it's actually a surprise for my Mother...Got it for her! (but I'm going to enjoy it-my garage is the only one big enough for it to fit in!!)
well- that's it- I'm not sure--I just need to know where to wire up the new one and connections. I'm guessing ignition, power, speakers, grounding, etc...
I guess you can say I need Pontiac's for Dummies. Grew up in a Pontiac garage with my grandfather but radios were never my forte'
So as you can see, the wire farthest right says 14VDC so that is your fused power wire to the radio. Next to it, you can't read it but that says "spkr" for speaker wire. Farthest left says "grnd" ground.
Now, I can't see if your dash has a "speaker" switch hanging down like you can see in my pic right above "120" on the speedometer. If your car has that, you have a rear speaker and I need to post up another diagram to show how that all works!
I'm away from the computer for a bit now but I will check in later.
And I'm expecting to come back to pics of your Grande Parisienne posted on Canadian Poncho for all to see !!!

Yes- got an installation sheet that came with the new deck. I'm wanting to keep the original in there and hiding the new. I have a 66 grande parisienne with a 283. I already assumed the original speakers wouldn't work- I just need to tear into it and see what size I need for proper replacement. I didn't want to pay someone to do it- thinking I could probably accomplish such a feat!
Brad, on these ones the light is a separate wire hanging down from the dash harness and the light plugs in to the radio case, top centre.
Thanks for the correction Carl. It's not a Beaumont so I better stay away.

Typically when I install an aftermarket radio in a vehicle I will wire to the fuse panel directly so I don't have to cut the original wiring in the event that I want to return it back to original.
If you can post the make and model of your stereo I can check to see what connections you need if the manual is online.
I'm heading to work but will return in the morning- first thing! You all are wonderful! Thank you!
We're not all wonderful (speaking for myself) but collectively we pretty much have the knowledge market cornered on these cars. Let us see some pic and facts on your new baby and don't forget to add it to the registry with a shot of the cowl tag as well so we can get to figure the date it was bult and options etc..
