Hello everyone! Steve here, one of the guys over at one of the Chevelle sites sent me your way.  I am now the proud owner of a 1966 Beau conv. and I have to say I really know very little about these fine machines. This car began as a project for my folks who have since lost interest. It has a 283/pg with about 68k original miles. No rust that I can see and is in overall good condiditon. The car has been dissasembled for paint. Sadly, I am not in the position to do a proper paint job at this point so I am just going to put the whole thing back together and drive for a few years till the kid is out of school. I have built a few other cars but never a 60's vintage chevy. because of the type of car this is and the low production numbers, I am going to avoid any mods and keep the thing as original as I can. I figure I will not need to go fast so the current equipment should do. Right now I am finishing the tear down on the front suspension and setting up a media blast station to get everything cleaned up and repainted. My goal is to get this back together by spring and cruise.

Welcome from windy Calgary! My 69 GTO was a resto started, then the guy got bored and pieced it together. He dumped at a consignment lot and hoped for the best. I watched it sit there from September to December of 1999. Finally a week before Christmas in 1999 I made them/him an offer. I got the thing (it wasn't running) and hauled it home. All it needed was some spark plugs and lot's of TLC. I have made it a priority to NOT put a bunch of money into it, but rather keep it a nice driver. Then I can have fun, not worry about the odd scratch and attempt to keep it stock. So far, so good.
