They might be "parking lights" that go "off" when you turn on headlights!

Running lights are a fairly recent safety idea

from the internet.....

67's parking lights are not suppose to stay on when you turn your headlights on

They are suppose to go out when headlights are on (tail lights stay on). Cannot remember what year they started to stay on.

I'd guess 68 as the first year they stayed on. 68 was the first year for sidemarkers on the big cars, so it stands to reason?

I'd agree with Mark on '68 being the first year for parking lights to remain illuminated with headlights.

Yup, 68 is first. However, it is easy to make the park lamps come on with the headlights if you put a jumper wire across the two proper terminals on the light switch. I did it on my 55 Grande Parisienne because I was so crazy about those cool 66 GP park lamps!

Whoops.... I uh...............um....................I um........................

My wife walked by with no clothes on and I hit the wrong key.... No, wait, she wouldn't like if I say that.....

Revenue Canada called while I was typing and told me I was $10,000 behind on my taxes and I hit the wrong key.....

My cat was doing the typing........... No, wait, that would be a lie cause I don't have a cat...

Well, I can't blame it on any of those, or alcohol so I guess it's just plain stupidity!!!

The park lamps come on fine when you pull the switch out to the first notch though, right?

And headlights come out when you pull it to the second notch?

I had a white 69 Coronet from Texas that came from there with the lights wired that way.
