79 Vette 18000 mile " Time Capsule" What's it worth?

Looking for  opinions from the vast area of expertice on this site. Everything on this car is original. Car has been driven just enough and maintained so as not to deteriorate. Color is Yellow w black interior. 350 motor,4speed trans. Has "Big" back window glass. Not sure of other options. I have seen this car in person and it is "mint". Any thoughts about its value and how to accurately promote its sale?

I'd say 15-18k. 1979 wasn't a real pinnacle year for Corvette.

I think Todd is probaly right 18,000 miles is 30,000 kms ? 15 k is right 18 if you really want it-79 I believe was the highest production year up to the point with 53,807 made

4-speed is the best part-is it L82 or L48 engine ? 2357 yellow cars built (rarest color and I'd say desirable)

there was a 78 indy pace car with 4000 kms for most of last

 year between 22,000 and 24,500

These are not a high dollar Corvette. "Big back window" was only body style available.
They will cook you in the summer, so make sure it has A/C and that it works. Even at that get the rear glass tinted/or a shade. I've had 3 '79's over the years and 4 '78's, as well as 2 '80's. I got my 1st one when it was 1 yr old and paid $10k back in the winter of 79-80.

That is maximum if not more than I would pay for a mint one now. I sold my black'79 4 speed 3 years ago and had a very hard time getting $5k for it.

Unless you absolutely love this model of 'Vette I would consider a newer late C4 or the far superior C5 1997 & newer model for not much more or even the same as what some people are trying to get for a C3 "Malaise Era" car. Why? Because of the handling, braking and level of performance. But mostly due to the comfort factor.

 I agree- A C4 is a far better deal-you can buy a pretty cherry 86-90 rag top for under 15 sometimes 10 - I think theres a 50km 87 rag on kijiji now for $12k

I sold a pretty nice 95 rag with LT1 auto last year for $9500 -- LT1 is the better choice but earlier L98's were still good
