Upgrading my 68 Rear Suspension

My car has had bad wheel hop issues since I bought it. I figure it's a good time to do something about it. I'm upgrading to UMI Performance boxed lower control arms and adjustable upper arms. I'm also adding a rear sway bar. I ordered the parts a couple days ago and should have them by the end of next week. I'm hoping that I can do my first proper burnout since I've had the car. See the links below for the parts I ordered.

I would think just the bar alone would help the hop issue. But what shocks are you running? A nice set all around will transform the feel, and probably lessen the wheel hop. QA1, Bilstiens, Koni, Edelbrock, KYB in that order are a good choice. The QA1' in the high end are fully adjustable. UMI is a great company to deal with.

I had new shocks put on the car 3 or 4 years ago. I don't remember what shocks they are. They didn't help with the wheel hop. A friend and I installed all the new UMI parts Saturday. The installation went great. It took about 3 hours to swap everytning out. The end result was exactly what I was hoping for. NO MORE WHEEL HOP.

Looks like you might need some other repairs now. It appears something is smoking near the back of the car.

Nice!!! A set of drag radials might be next on the list... that alone cured my hop without suspension mods... I have a set of no-hop bars that i'm putting on this winter, I put a rear-sway bar on the year before (didn't notice any reduction of wheel hop with that)...i'm running regular radial now so i get hop vs. the ET Street's i used to run...
