The car is obviously straight and clean, a very common colour back them, close to our 70. A wild stripe would never have been applied to a Luxo that's for sure.
Its a Luxury LeMans, why do people always try to make the car something it isn't. To me its a Gong Show right now all of course can be corrected. And I don't think it is Cheap, I think it is in the ball park for this model straight and clean and freak job add ons.
Here's how it should look...

I like it, the coulor is really different and with a set of original style Pontiac rims would be sweet. The big deal is no rust (california) nice platform to build on.
I'm just curious Ray, what would you appraise your cars value at?
$2,500 - $3,500.
I live in Toronto 10 minutes from Yonge & Bloor.
I'm making a late New Year Resolution. No more comments about cars posted for sale. It is always a good conversation starter but inevitably someone's feeling get hurt. I think too much of all you guys so this is the end.

Oh i like it, should sell our van and ski doo to work in the winter and bike in rain or non snowy days. I'd have a classic and definately lose the spare tire i'm carrying to boot by biking like 3 hrs per day!
I already said my peace, BUT you should be able to get it for $3,000 or less the way it's all EFF'd up with that stupid srtipe, wheels and tires. God knows what has been done to the interior and engine compartment. Remember its got the 350 BIG block
I kind of like it, Keystones and all. How do you know the decal wasn't a dealer installed item? 5 grand is right on the market for a rust free 2 door A body from 70-72. Interior is something most anyone can do. Rotten quarters and frame work isn't.. Just because it's a "Luxury" LeMans doesn't mean it can't be muscular looking as well. Here's a GM A body luxury car that was placed a few pegs above the Luxury Leman's and it has spoilers and stripes..

I'm just curious Ray, what would you appraise your cars value at? I'm just wondering if the market is so poor in your region that you evaluate cars sooo low. I would and have spent more than $3000. for the same line of cars but in a lot worse condition just for parts. If that same car was out here in B.C. I don't think it would have even been advertised because someone (including myself) would have bought it. As far as being EFF'd up because of stripes and rims, a floor jack, a tin of varsol and a spare hour and your back to orig. It just boils down to being in the eyes of the beholder, I guess. I personally am with Todd on this one, I like it too buddy.
I'm in a piss and vinegar mood over this car.......there is only ONE big block and it wears a Bowtie.
you need to expand your horizons on that one.....how many big blocks have you had? i dont like the wheels or stripe on that car but its worth 5 if rustfree but not to me
Those stripes look like one person's interpretation to me; they are certainly not factory.
There were some tapered stripes offered on the 1972 GTO that look similar to the Heavy Chevy stripes. I have also seen them on a non-GTO back in the 1970s on a Lemans Sport with the Endura front end.
Attached is a picture of a 1972 Luxury Lemans with the standard moldings. It is interesting to note the optional side splitter tailpipes. They were standard on the GT & GTO that year. If you ordered a 400 or 455 in any other Lemans (non GT or GTO) you got the quieter duals with little turndown tips; the side split tips were all part of the GT / GTO exhaust system that was a little less quiet.
