Hi from the festival city

I have been reading on this site since I have my 57 Pontiac but never really introduced myself.

I am new to the car restoration and not even that long ago (12 years ago) moved to Canada from the Netherlands. Untill I noticed my 57 for sale never seen a car like this in my life.

I bought my 57 Pathfinder as a project about 5 years ago. Since I am running my own electronics business don't have much time but slowy work on this car. I am doing a frame of restoration for the first time and still have to learn a lot, and find lots of good info on this site.

So far I have been able to find the right colour and gaskets for the 261 and have it ready aswell as the powerglide. Currently I am working on replacing the floor and other sheetmetal that has seen to much of our Ontario salt.

What I know from the car that it was originally purchased in Toronto and spend most of it's life there and in the Niagara falls area.

Welcome John. Stratford is a great city. One of the most enjoyable jobs I had was working at Stratford Motor Products. Your Pontiac is coming along nicely. Keep us posted on your progress.

Welcome from Nova Scotia. Nice car. You won't find a better group of people to ask and recieve answers from. I found this out on day 1.

Am presently in your Old homes Carribean holdings, the island of Curacao. Spent a lot of time in Holland - De Koy, Den Helder and Amsterdam.

Welcome John,

Looks like you are doing a nice job with your restoration, looking forward to more pictures as you get it finished.

Stratford is a beautiful place, lived there as a young child (so i am told), spent lots of summers at cousins there.
Love the breakfasts at the Festival Inn just as your coming into town. The buffet is almost worth the drive from Kawartha Lakes!

Brother in Law works at the Stratford Festival so we often have an excuse to visit still!

I think its really impressive that you are doing a frame off restoration and its your first go at this.... good on you!

Rob

Welcome from Woodstock. I've never seen that car on the road in Stratford. When was it last driven?

Hi Eeludy

I don't think the car ever drove around in Stratford. I bought it from a family in St Mary's that bought in Niagara, but the guy passed away before he could start fixing it up.

John first of all welcome and i am happy to see another fellow 1957 Pontiac owner. You picked a real sweet car to build and rare being a two door hardtop. It looks like you know what you are doing, you must have built cars before because what you are doing is no easy task. As you probably have figured out by now, i aswell have a 1957 Pontiac. Please feel free to ask me anything regarding the 1957 Pontiac. I would be more than glad to help. Please check out my 1957 Pontiac in the MY RIDES section. There is a number of 57 Pontiac's on this great site. I just have to add that it is real sweet that you are keeping the original 261 inline six in your 57. It is one fabulous motor. Wishing the best of luck with your resto. Cheers. George.
