Wow, fun stuff! I am what they call a bird dog officer so I call the shots over a fire. I ride with a pilot in the bird dog airplane and direct the tankers or other aircraft and link with the ground guys. My first year back about 20 years ago my pilot was a tough 73 year old guy who had flown Lancasters over Germany. (33 missions and a DFC, but he never told me that himself)
He sure used to fling that Cesnna 310 around! His opinion of the fire action, as intense as it gets sometimes, was"At least nobodys shooting at you.) Sure put it in perspective.
Your buddy may have flown one of these Invaders as some of them had served in Korea and WW2.

IIRC, the Canadian '66 sheet metal was common to US, even with the difference in wheelbase, which GM cheated somehow to use the US Chevrolet chassis underneath. If it turns out the front fenders are shorter, it would make sense because changning the bolt-on parts would not require the plant changes in the Fisher body shop, or a new stamping tool both of which are crazy-expensive. Love mine, it looks like it is going to jump out and eat something!

I'm pretty sure they arewhat you need. I measured the front side which may be just a tad bit shorter than the mounting side. I took a closer look at the clips and they are snap in plastic from the front side so once it warms up a bit here (to about 0 celsius today with any luck) I think I should able to pop them off without breaking them. Course they are 45 years old so like I say no promises.
Awesome. When I was working on Pontiac Regional Advertising for our agency, we were filming spots with a cameraman/director who was multi-engine rated. Turns out, he enlisted, then flew A-26's in the Korean Conflict and then later into the 50's, signing up for a few hitches. Just as his tour was up, he was approached by some folks from "Air America" to see if he wanted to make $1000 a week (a fortune, then) flying in "southeast asia." It was right about then he decided that running a motion picture camera would be just as rewarding, but a fraction of the risk! Told him about the time the YAF B-25 flew over our neighborhood, banked, and then made some fearsome banging sounds as it went behind the treeline. His answer "They all do that... but it sure does get your attention the first few times!"

A lot of the guys who did fly never said much about it. They did it cos they had to, and wanted to, but left a lot of it "over there." My HS art teacher was a B-17 captain at age 20... I cannot imagine growing up that fast to be responsible for the lives of so many people. Unbelievable.

Bad news I think. The passenger side molding was is really good but the drivers had a small scrape on the middle of the bottom of the piece and, even worse, someone's drilled it out to use a screw to hold it on the car some time in the past.
I never noticed it because it is right on the bottom back end where I didn't run my finger overit when i was checking it out.
I may have another better one but I'll have to do some digging.
I'll let you know what I find. Anybody else have one good one?
If you can find another, or there is one more long stick on the car, I can probably get it fixed. A good friend runs a prototype shop in Detroit, and is pretty good with a TIG, so maybe he can fix them up? I'll take any of these that come off the car... looked like there might have been a spear on one of the fenders? Any help greatly appreciated!!!!!

Arrived today with the post man I am over the moon! Many thanks to all my Cdn brothers, especially '66 Grande Guy. Proof that even though GM cancelled Pontiac, the brand still lives. Thanks to one and all!
