Heater core is same as 1955 Chevrolet. NOT American Pontiac which has totally different system.

Not sure about the horns - I suspect most GM horns of that vintage are quite similar, whatever you do you should get a matched pair, they will have slightly different tones to blend together, here's what the Chevy horns look like:

Chevy Horns, Used, 1955-1956

The horns that were on my car (56, should be same as 55) looked like those above (but mine did not work - a common problem with old horns).

Hope this helps.

And - Welcome! Nice photo of your car in your avatar. More pictures are always wanted here! Any other questions, just ask away. As you know some parts of your car are same as American Pontiac and many others are Chevrolet of the same vintage. Some, like the electrical wiring, are a blend of both. And some, like the front end sheet metal and grille, are unique to Canadian Pontiac. There are several folks around here who know most of the details and can help you sort it out.

Original horns say Autolite on them. Try jumping a wire from the positive side of the battery directly to the horn. Sometimes the direct 12 volts will shock or wake up the horn. If that does not work the chevy horns will fit. When ordering a heater core get the core for the Chevrolet deluxe heater that is the same as the Canadian Pontiac.

Hey welcome to the site Mervyn! I'm up on the north shore, French River area.

There's not many Islanders on here, well, besides the guys from B.C. (but they don't count  biggrin).

hey there Mervyn, a very belated welcome from a former Islander who also has a 55 Pontiac of the Laurentian variety. I'm hoping to be back home in Juiy. Maybe I'll be lucky and see your car touring around. I'll be mostly in the Uigg (Vernon River) to Charlottetown area.
