I never knew that any Edsels were produced in Canada. I though instead we got cars like the Meteor (a Ford sold by Mercury) & Monarch (a Mercury sold by Ford).

Ya, that's because nobody bought them and you never saw one until today.

 That is a Hardtop.

The Edsel was manufactured by the Ford Motor Company during the 1958, 1959, and 1960 model years. The Edsel never gained popularity with contemporary American car buyers and sold poorly. Consequently, the Ford Motor Company lost millions of dollars on the Edsel's development, manufacture, and marketing. The name "Edsel" has since become synonymous with failure. (wiki)

From memory Oakville production ended in June 1959, so there were no '60 Canadian Edsels. The '59 instruments lived on in right hand drive Fords to 1964.

No "CANADIAN" Edsels but there were a limited number made in the US before they "pulled the plug" on them.

I used to know the last date for US '60 Edsels...around November 1959?

The '59 Edsel instruments were used by Oakville from 1959 to 1964, though it has been suggested, I think erroneously, that the entire Edsel dash transposed was used. The past opnion that they were exactly the same instruments has been quashed..they look very similar though!

There were export Edsels from new as is well-known, and the London Motor Show featured a '58 imported by Lincoln Cars Ltd. It was sold to a business magnate off the show floor.

I always liked the 58 edsel. I like the roof line of the ranger and pacer better than the citation. The 475 on the valve cover refers to the torque of the motor and not the displacement. The motor is a 410 ci.

While they aren't on my top 10 of old car "wants" this one is cool because it was built in Canada. I appreciate any Canadian built old car.
Unlike the pushbutton system on old Mopars which was bulletproof, the Edsel system was problematic. It does look cool in the center of the steering wheel though!

its so unusual i like it, an edsel and brown, be the only one around, i talked to the guy about it, seems like a solid car, the idea of a giant brown car with a standard trans did not go over well around the dinner table!
