1957 PONTIAC Maintenance Manual

Since I sold my 57 hardtop , I really don't need to keep this around. I've been using for the mechanical info that applies to my 55 Chevrolet 150.

THIS IS FOR THE CANADIAN PONTIAC, printed in Oshawa !!!!

Figured I'd see if anyone needs it , great shape to used to display with your car at the show.
I'd give it a 8/10 , still bound tightly, hasn't been used in the shop .
asking $150

I did not realize that power seat was an option for a Canadian Pontiac in 1957 ? how rare would that option be??

The power seat option would be really rare in a Canadian car. If it had a power front seat it would also of had power windows as the two werwe packaged together.

Really? Al, do you have any idea why they would have packaged them together like that? The two seem so unrelated. I'm sure there will have been buyers who wanted one but had no interest in the other, i.e. sometimes shorter people like a power seat because they are able to lift the seat to improve visibility.

In my factory options list it lists the power seat and power windows as one item with one option number. I am guessing it was the wiring harness that was the main difference. I will post the option number when I look it up.

I had a 1957 Chevrolet Belair four door hardtop (sport sedan) from 1984 to 2006 and my 57 had power seat and power windows and this is what i learned. The wiring harness was a shared harness, meaning that it was one harness with connection for the power seat that came off the main harness for the power windows. My 57 Chev was an American built car (Kansas city, Missouri, U.S.A.). I am not sure about the Canadian setup but my American 57 Chev was like this. Cheers. George.

I have one as well and it contains plenty of cross over info for a 57 Chev as well. Pretty good buy either way.
