That car was featured at Team Chevelle back in the late 1990s (96 or 97). At the time it belonged to Mac Logan in Calgary. It is an L35 M40 car with manual steering & brakes. I heard it sold around the turn of the millenium. So here it is again. Lovely car!

Here is the link to the Team Chevelle feature from way back: http://www.chevelles.com/feature/macs67.html

If that is Mac Logan's car, I think it had a pretty rare set of factory shoulder harnesses in it as well.

No kidding. I hate it when details like that are left out.

I can't imagine a 20 year old resto selling for that but I am sure this is the car. The market will set the price. Paul.

I think the price is very reasonable? ...Sure looks great in the pictures!

So this car didn't come from factory with a vinyl roof ...but has the chrome molding on the upper quarters.  I didn't know you could order them like that.

Cool car!!! biggrin

I had a red one with those moldings and no top - I'd say its pricey but that's my opinion the market will tell

It seems to be a unique Canadian option, RPO D99 moldings. They were $9.25 for just the moldings, or $19.05 for the moldings & 2-tone paint on the 1967 Beaumonts & Chevelles. I remember a few examples from various years through about 1971 - 72.

As for the car coming with the D96 stripes, a 67 SD396 ordered with the stripes would delete the Sport Deluxe nameplates on the rear quarters. The old link at Team Chevelle shows the car to not have the quarter emblems, but I notice now someone has added them.

When our member "67SD396" stops by here he will be able to shed some light on this car. He knows it from way back.

The nice thing with colours is, one guys ugly is the next guys favourite. It's great we don't all like the same thing. I used to think everything had to be red. Then I bought a Nova that was originally Capri Cream and Sierra Fawn. Certainly NOT mainstream colours but the trend away from red/black/blue has been pretty strong of late and I've had an amazing number of people who say "Do that Nova in original colours, I've never seen another one like it!" Seems like rare/unusual is a lot more in demand than it used to be.

Went to the Chevelle site and it is a factory stripe car but those shoulder harnesses were added by the previous owner

  • Granada Gold with gold interior.
  • Buckets and console.
  • 396/325 with M-40.
  • Non-posi 2.73 12 bolt.
  • Manual steering & manual brakes,
  • 4 wheel drum
  • Factory options included tach with the clock in the console.
  • Body side SD stripe.
  • Chrome for 2 tone paint.
  • Color was always solid gold.
  • SS hood is original.

The rally wheels are 15x7 with the correct Pontiac non-disc brake centre caps. I also added factory shoulder belts from a full size. The mounting points are in most 67's.
