hey guys im still having the wiring issues...... i have to tell you im the worst at wiring.... confusing me all the time! sooo a little update on the wiring i got my ign wire from my dist wired through the firewall into my fusebox still kinda confused on everything else i have no idea where anything goes .......... at all like i have my fuseable link wired to the starter but still no power to my fusebox...... or anywhere else....... and when i look at the manuel...... makes me even more confused.......... like is it just me or is wiring the worst thing in the world???
I've had some interesting wiring problems with the cars that I have built.The best thing I find is #1,don't be drinking too much beer,and have a knowledge contest with your other drunk buddy who also thinks he knows it all.#2Wake up the next day or show up sober without your other buddy and start by unplugging the harnesses on the firewall.Roll them into a ball and throw them in the garbage.Order new ones,from whoever has them,OPG etc,there not hard to find and they are cheap.I find by putting new harnesses on the questions start to answer them self,because over the years everyone has been scabbing on pieces and then the next hamburger comes along and butchers them some more.Until you accually look at what is supposed to be original,you will only drive yourself nuts.Find yourself an assembly manual for your car and go from wire to wire and just start hooking stuff up,ignition wires to starter,wires to your coil,heater fan,then your other harness will be your headlights horns,main power to a junction terminal somewhere.The questions will eventually get a lot fewer,and alot more easy to address.Get rid of the old crap and start new,not only that it looks much nicer than a bunch of junky connections that aren't any good anyway.
i agree with trucker. what is deceptive is that each circuit is separate but they are bundles together in a harness for protection and most of that travels thru a junction block on the firewall. electricity travels from plus to neg and the body/chassis is part of the flow. if ya want to hook up for coffee sometime i'll try to make it clearer then mud

Did you hook up you wiring harnes to the front end of the car. Lights horn relay etc. There is a wire that runs from the positive battery post to a small terminal on the rad cradle then runs down the front of the rad cradle to the horn relay. Then a 12 gauge red wire from the horn relay travels along the driver side wheel well to the firewall fuse block plug. That powers the fuse block.

As someone else suggested, if you don't have a multi meter, get one. Seen them on sale at CTC for $10. Learn how to do continuity so that you can figure out which wire matches at each end of the harness. Then follow the schematic in installing them by colour code and guage.
if you are going through your wiring anyway i would recomend disconecting your amp meter permanently to prevent fires, i never realized these things were live at all times, make replace the amp for a voltage gauge
wiring didn't look that bad. only has to hook up a couple of stragglers and he should be good to go. he does need linkage for the tranny. dropped off an electrical wiring book, showed him how to read a wiring diagram. don't be overwhelmed, don't look at the whole pic only the circuit that you are working on. the trany circuit was disconnected and wouldn't start.
