Trunk and Under Hood Lights.

Looking at installing a trunk light and under hood light in th SD. what i have come up with so far is it was a U-25 option on Chevelles. was it offered on Beaumonts??I have found the place where the trunk light mounts...the screw hole is pre drilled, but where does the hood light go? All I can find is 17.75inches from the centerline( Chevelle Tech Manual)...but there are no pre drilled holes...guess they need to be drilled? Also the trunk hooks into the licence plate wire and the hood one attaches to the horn relay??

Thanks guys...here is what i have  found so far...trunk one fits into opening to the right of the trunk hold down catch...wires come thru round hole on left side, then follow down the hinge...folloe the wiring harness to the back and plug into licence plate lite connector.

The under hood one, i still need to verify where it mounts...it does go on the hood, dipstick side (BBC) and wires into the horn relay.

Well 69 beaumonts did. Mine came with option U26 for the under hood light and U25 for trunk. Not sure for 67 but 69 hood light was on the drivers side for small blocks and passenger side for big blocks and six bangers. In other words , what ever side you dip stick is on. Some one must have a pic. for 67.

I don't know if the Beaumont's are the same as the GTO's but I have an assembly manual and it shows on the firewall what each dimple in it is for.. ie the underhoold lamp , regulator mounting , etc....  and our underhood lamp is a two piece one and it bolts to the firewall off center towards the passenger side just over the pass head on the engine and the switch is mounted center, and uses a switch like the brake light switch that mounts above the brake pedel.. our underhood lamp is rear driver side of the brace that the hood springs are mounted on..

Here is what they look like

What year are you talking about? I assume it is 1967. The underhood light and trunk light were not installed on the Canadian assembly line on Beaumonts or Chevelles prior to 1968, but they were in the accessory books for dealer installation. It was all engineered to fit, but for some reason in Canada you had to get it over the counter.

Thanks for all the info....yes, 1967, and looks like a dealer installed option. I have found info and pictures on wiring for the trunk, but cannot fond a picture of an underhood installation. 1967 Chevelles had it as a factory option, but cannot find any picture on the web of correct installation...no
