can you believe this

Ok, which hospital is he in, because I want to go finish the job. I wouldn't allow insurance to dictate how it will be fixed, because they may try to cheap out at first. I know its just a car, but I would be inconsoleable for a while, and very upset. I guess if the panel was a replacement its not as bad, but still inexcusable. Was he not paying attention? Mech failure? All I can say is if it were me, I;d be very mad , and he'd be very scared that he just hit some crazy mans car. I feel your pain, and dont like it.

Sorry to hear about the accident, a car guy's worst nightmare. How bad is the damage ? I hope the guy had insurance.

That is terrible. Sounds like no one was injured, maybe... that is good news.

Happened to me once in my old car too, very upsetting I know.

The thing is 99.9% of drivers have no idea you are driving a classic nor have the foggiest about value, to them it's just another car on the road.

I hope the rpair turns out well.

Yah, if it was mine he wouldn't be sitting for a while.
Don't let the adjuster pressure you into making rash decisions. Learn your rights and challenge them to make the car as good as it was before , if not better.

Oh man that sucks!!! I know the guys at Mission (you can call myron and tell him andrew with the yellow beaumont sent you), they do good work and know old cars (they own and show several)... Tough thing will be to find someone to do it, and turn around the work quickly... also try Kenny Lang, he owns a 67 Beaumont and is an award winnipeg painter (also IHRA pro mod champ). I think the hard part will be to find someone who wants to work on an old car when the new ones pay better... give those guys a call, tell them your story, they both do good work...

When some of the other MB guys see this, I'm sure they will also have some advice for you...

Good luck! Let us know who you go with!
Andrew

Ya that sucks I know what its like... sry to hear. Pick a place that wont hot rod your car into a pole after they fix it. choose well and let them know... NO messing around with your ride. JMHO.

Tell insurance where you want it done   Don't take no for a answer

We have a public auto insurance in MB, they will assess the damage, put a price to the fix and you can take that to any accredited shop you want, or even fix it yourself for a reduced amount (pretty sure they still do that)... A good shop will review the estimate and lobby on your behalf if more time/money is needed for the repair...
