        and figured you want to replace the body anyway?

 

       I recently bought a car like that  Owner said there were no issues...except for the parts not seen  lol

In most cases you get what you pay for.I went to see many cars and the owner should pay me to take it from them.In the case of my car, when you see a deal you don't pass it up.I went to see a car recently because I was told that is was in excellent shape.It had a hole in the floor that Wiarton Whilly must of lived in.

few years ago, drove 4 1/2 hrs one way to look at a '68 imp custom, guy said good condition, southern car.

yep, southern alright......ONTARIO.

i looked at the blue one in lakeland too was asking 22000.wasn"t a bad car but still needed work.at least it was worth looking at. this black one was such a crappy car i walked around it once and got back in my car didnt even bother knocking on the door for i would have realy laid it into him.after emailing his friend to tell him all he could say to me hope you enjoyed the ride.so my friends if youre interested in this car ask a million questions maybe you get one straight answer.

I feel your pain. There has been many a time I've driven a distance to look at a car and end up leaving without knocking on the owners door.
I don't know why people lie about their cars. You're going to SEE the BS when you get there!

Been there too. Drove two hours to look at a Cadillac the owner assured me was not rusty, of course it was....he said, well, would you have come to look if I told you it was rusty?   All I could do was laugh.

It would be nice if this never happened to us. Driving hours to see somthing is always risky (and cost's us $), but I try my best to not get my hopes up on the way, so if it doesn't pan out, which is 80% of the time, I just bite my tongue, quickly exit stage right and enjoy the road trip alone home, wiser for the experiance... Did you happen to look into renting a Waterfront Trailer Site while there?
