95 Electra-Glide at tonights auction------Value?

I expect to bid on this bike tonight, but dont expect to win, unless I get a rediculously good deal. I dont need another toy, but you know how it is. I would shine 'er up, play with it for one season, and sell it if I did win. It would be great to hear from anyone who knows what its ballpark value would be in your opinion. Even a guess would be interesting. (assume its turnkey, with normal wear).

I dont even have a bike licence anymore, but that can be fixed. The more research I do, the more my bid price goes down. I am more into cars, but it is on my bucket list, and the money is burning a hole in my pocket. I am still excited at the prospect of owning it. I have been around long enough to know it is not at all practical, and will likely sit around unused, adding to my insurance costs for no good reason. But life is short, and I say "do what makes you happy" when you have the opportunity. I quit smoking 6 months ago, and this would be my gift to myself.

As for the noise, my Beaumont is quite loud, but it can also be driven in a manner so as to not offend others, so I assume most of the Harleys that blast my eardrums are because the driver likes it that way. I've always understood that Harleys are as popular as they are for one reason. Harley Davidson=Vagina magnet. I've been married for 26 years, so that aspect has no bearing on me, but a Man wants what a Man wants, and who am I to question it!

I believe it has 44000 kms, but I forget right now. If I win it, I expect to be a temporary keeper, just so I can play a little, and then move on. I am not Harley dude. My Beaumont came with a nice Harley Graphic on the back window, it was the first thing to go! But, I still want to experience rumbling around our back roads on one, or being obnoxiously loud at the crack of the wrist. Thanks for the input. Sometimes I need an angel on my left shoulder to make up for the devil on my right.....hes been making most of the decisions lately. The bike will be up in about 2 hrs.

They seem to be selling between 7 and 10 Gs (U.S.) on the internet.

Thanks for the input. I just got back from a closeup inspection. It was better than expected. I cant detect any issues, or damage, or leaks. Sounds nice, rides nice, and is VERY clean. It is owned by a bank that recently reposessed it. It is being sold tonight with no reserve. I am going to do as much research as I can before the auction, but I have a feeling that if it went for 7 or less, it would be coming home with me! Thanks again........if anyone else can share their expertise on short notice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind that Harleys are vastly overhyped .  Don't get sucked into the "legend". Just judge the bike on its actual merits.

My opinion from one who has seen too many noisy overweight chrome boats.

Hope you get a bargain!

If you want it go for it. Slow, heavy, over priced junk that have scary bad brakes IMO. $7k is plenty for an auction bike with no pre-ride available. The market is flat for these right now unless you catch the "wanna go to Fri13th" crowd.
I know a GoldWing is not the same as a H-D, but they are a lot more bike for less coin if you're looking for a big cruiser. But everyone should experience owning a H-D for once.
I have, and they look a lot better than they perform.

It is also going to depend on the milage. My dad sold his 95 FLHTC last year for 12 but the big thing with that is it only had 14thou kms. I would say as a ball park somewhere around 10 would be top dollar right now for it as stated above the market has gone flat on bikes again.

Sold for $6400 +5% +tax. A decent deal I think. It had 42000kms. I was the high bidder at $5500 for a loooong pause, and I didnt want to pay more, it went to a local guy I know. It was in excellent condition. I'm still glad I went, I didnt even miss supper. Thanks for the input.

I think your bid was fair all considered. Did you get to hear it run for awhile? At 42000klm you maybe in for some $2k outlay if it needs a bunch of odds & ends. With your taxes, Safety check, fresh fluids & general maintainence that will be $8k +

For that price it was a good buy. Even at 8 it would have been a good investment to have fun with

I did hear it run, and it sounded as good as I'd hoped it would. 100% HD. I am the 2nd highest bidder on most items that I try to win. I stick to my plan, and dont get caught up in the 'man vs man' aspect. I could have bid a little more, but the outcome would be the same, except the new owner would have had to pay more, he wasnt going anywhere and I knew it.....and I still have the cash to buy another toy if the right deals comes along. The Harley had all the bells and whistles ,and great chrome, some people pay $25k+ for the same experience this man will get for a fraction of the price.
