the ID plate on this car could be mounted on the drivers side inner fender or the drivers side door jamb. The trim code is on this metal plate designated by the letters TR or TRM followed by usually a 3 diget number / letters. Usually on the 3rd or 4th line

awesome car ! I had one-back in 84 -old guy down the street had a for sale sign "best offer" green and clean with 90,000 miles 318 A block, he showed the car to me for an hour then told me " no safety check" $75 ! I remember him starting the car without sitting in the seat or touching the gas-I sold it the next day to a high school mechanic teacher that bought it for his sister-I used the money to buy a rusty 75 monza -- those were the days !

Had a 68 Polara 500 in the 80's, 383/auto, buckets /console... Blew the rear in it. A buddy was a Co-Owner of a small used parts place and said he had a rear for it(he was a Chryco guy) Anyways, gave im a beat up corolla wagon for it, spent the night in his shop while he worked on it. Only problem... The rear end was out of some truck and was super low geared...LOL MAN That thing would launch!!!! Both rear wheels up in smoke!!!! Was a nice cruisin car, but you couldn't go over 40MPH LOL
Wound up trading it for a 54 chev PU, It was getting to the point it wouldn't start anymore.... Timing chain would jump when launched, and I would turn the dist to compensate.... Worked til I got rid of it.

The paint code is on the fender tag, located in the engine room on the driver's side inner fender well.

It should look something like this:

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSyV1xKWCZxLoBDgPCBC45PegiAu7bPuHiYnTWSt9TYyFF8f4xLmw

The paint code will be where the "LL1" is, second row from bottom towards the right.

The paint code should correspond to this chart:

index.php?action=dlattach;topic=10544.0;attach=16736;image

I haven't tried this as I don't have a '68 Mopar, but here is a fender tag decoder:

http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=85

Good luck with it!
