looking for the proper sequence to adjusting doors properly ,where do you start. is there a special tool for the large phillip scews for the tight area on doors for adjustment. was there a fisher manual for all body alignment ,adjustments for our cars.
In my shop manual for a 64 it shows measurements for door to fender, fender to hood, hood to cowl and fender to body by window in the chassis metal section. For door adjustments it is in the boody section and one special tool is show that is shaped like and "S" box end on each. For the phillips screw heads I used one of those screw drivers that was about 6in long and had a 90deg on each end on it or you could use a short phillips end that will fit into a 1/4 drive socket and use the ratchet. I made my own "S" wrench by getting 2 craftsman long box end wrenchs and heating them up to bend in shape, cutting one end off each and them welding back together.

I was staying out of this because I was hoping somebody would have a trick. If and I mean if you can break the phillip bolts loose with a socket phillips bit you would line up the quarters first, the quarter window second, and the door leading edge would be adjusted by the fenders because your always stuck in one corner. You always work from the quarters out because there isn't any adjustment in welded quarters. The chassis manual will have the gaps usually 1/8 to a 1/4. These cars are not perfect. I took a fairly cheap "BIG headed" Philly and cut the tip off about 1" from the end and welded it at 90 deg. worked good.. but as Paul said.. IF you can break them loose.. they're bruisers to get loose. there are the Impact screwdrivers as well.. the one you hit with a hammer and it torques in the direction you set it. havent seen them for a lot of years, but i'm sure theyr'e out there somewhere
If your front fenders are off it's not so bad. I assumed they were still on. Any parts store should have that hammer impact screw driver and thats what I would use if they are off. Just like Kelly said. Paul.
First step in aligning anything is to determine which can be moved and which can't. In this case the rear quarters and rocker panels are fixed solid. Align the doors to the rear quarters and rockers. Then go from there. Last piece is the front fenders.
so if you need the gap up,down or forwards backwards you adjust the hinges with bolts ? if you need to roll door in or out at top or bottom you adjust the philp heads screws? ive noticed that there is a little play in the door up and down. im suspecting new pins, how does one know if hinges are shot? gonna start with new pins and bushings. or maybe just buy complete new hinges for both sides
are new pins/bushings available? they didnt used to be, and the hinges.. werent available either.. BUT.. if they are.. I'd love to know. those pot metal hinges have a habit of breaking.

Hinges are available. I got mine from Hot Rods and Classics in Chilliwack. For the money I wouldn't fool around with old ones. Only thing is I don't know if these ones will last as long as originals but the cars don't get used as much in this stage of their lives.
