The charts are not cross reference. They are stand alone. Cam knows as much as any one and he already said 350 or 400 only.

It looks well preserved. I wonder where it has been hiding all these years?

In the description it says that it has a V8. That is the only way they came, but I wonder if it is a 350 or 400.

Judging by the plates, the current owner has had it for a number of years-I'd say since about 1989.

350 2 bbl, 350 4 bbl and 400 4bbl, all small blocks. Wife's uncle had one, it was a decent car for a father of three.

i really like the car. Brings back memories of childhood days when friends parents had one and would go for drives. Beautiful riding car. And base don the photos the body and interior are in fantastic shape. Good buy for $5000 whether its desirable or not. Your getting alot of car for the money.

Ray, your right It was a 1975 Parisienne Brougham 2 dr, I thought they had them in the 76 as well since this was the last year of the Pontiac 455. Funny, that 75 had the square headlights like the 76, that's why I got confused..

If 165 "Net" was the HP for the 76 350 4V, how would that engine rate out under "Gross"?

I don't thing so Carl. The page you show does not identify models to engines. Indeed the 455 was available in other models as was  Pontiac 400.  The Chart merely shows all power teams for 1976. The Sales material identifies engines in models.  Pascal will tell us what year the car was but as I recall him mentioning before it was a '73 or 74.

Ray, that chart says "Laurentian, Laurentian Safari and Parisienne" right above "1976 mechanical data".

I have a totally separate book like this for Catalina and Bonneville, and yes, they certainly did. I am still amazed that there were any years at all that a 455 came in a Parisienne. It has always seemed odd.

Years ago I pulled a 455 out of a round headlight Laurentian sedan.

There were only 3 Pontiac 455s I pulled out of Canadian built cars,  two 1973 Parisienne Brougham and the 1975.

I don't know then Carl, could it be a carry forward page from 1975? You are right about the Canadian nameplates though, it would have been easier to just use the 454 I would think. I have personally seen a 1973 Parisienne with a 455.

I had a separate page for each year in that book so I assumed it is 76 only. There is a local car here, a 75 Parisienne 455. Triple black, pretty decent shape but he won't part with it. It's just sitting in his shed, never drives it. It is being stored in a very nice shed though, not being moused or anything.

From the Canadian 1971 Pontiac brochure it shows that both Chevrolet & Pontiac engines were offered concurrently in the Laurentian, Catalina & Parisienne Brougham series. The Bonneville, Grand Ville & Grand Safari were Pontiac-only powered.

I tried to attach the full specs from the back page of the brochure but I am giving up for now.

Carl (Carl Stevenson) we have to say things to get you to post some of your reference material. It looks like provoking you worked! biggrin

The full-sized Pontiacs sold in Canada for 1976 were sourced from both Canada & the U.S.A. Yes, from about 1971 through 1976 there were some strange permutations, like 455-powered Parisienne Broughams and Catalinas with either Chevy or Pontiac engines, depending on the year and on other optional equipment & where production was allocated. The Grande Ville of 71 72 & the Bonnevilles were U.S. produced. However

I had read in the Canadian 1975 brochure that the 455 was offered on the Canadian models, but the 76 brochure lists the 400 as the top engine. Maybe there was some tit-for-tat on the allocations. Im thinking out loud here, but the Laurentian used a Chevrolet Bel Air interior (the Bel Air was still built in the U.S. as late as 1975), so I am almost wondering if it was possible that the theoretical Laurentian 455 could have come from a U.S. GMAD plant? For 1976 the Bel Air was dropped in the U.S. (simultaneously the Biscayne was dropped from Canada). Maybe in light of that, any possible 1976 Laurentians would have only come from Oshawa or possible Ste. Thérèse. I dont know if any Laurentians ever came from the U.S. or not during 1971 - 1975, but I am thinking that they might have if ordered with 455 power. I guess we need to consult or report any details into the registry.
