This is what I have been doing with my son: 86 SS,454+.030,small chamber heads/flat tops/Comp valve train/Comp L s6 .530 /.525 lift cam/Qjet & Turbo 350  by Belmont automotive/ 3000 stall /3.73 posi. The 7.5 diff is all new internally w/  Auburn Posi, and replacement axles. I think we are going to need a 12 bolt!  John

Nice project    don't put 'sticky" tires on it and you will be fine   

If the tires are spinning, the drivelive ain't hurtin

A customer of mine is original owner of his 85 SS. As soon as he big blocked and sticky tired it, time for a diff!

The 4 link setup in my Imposter is based on a coil spring 12 bolt, I believe a 65/66/67 from a Chevelle, the "ears" are visable,so it would fit the Monte. If and when the 7.5 pops, I will need a 8.2 and leafs to do my car.
