more bad luck on my 52 Fleetleader

Well the brand new windshields got installed last week, i decided to put the visor on sunday and today noticed a 4 inch crack on the left side widsheild from the center post by the mirror mount. I might not ever get this thing saftied no my fault for over tightening the center trim, im learning too much about these cars by stupid little mistakes lol.

I got them from the previous owner when I bought the car, he bought them over 4yrs ago but never got around to putting them in. I guess no harm in asking the company where he got it from.

Sorry to hear about that BUT you may have saved me from doing the same thing when w/s goes back in. Did you use you old W/strip?? I have a new one but does not have all the holes "punched" for centre divider, & a hole for lwr. plate that holds it to body at lwr. ctre. this hole has a small bushing in it???/

I used to smash my newly purchased Cokes on purpose outside the B/A station when I was a kid so I could take back in the broken bottle neck with the cap still intact for a refund. I found out the B/A station owner would do this out of good faith, so I kept smashing Cokes. The station owner used to hate me selling me a Coke. biggrin

Pete, I used new weather strip, my new one is the one for the stainless trim to go into the left and right sides and has the the center trim holes too. It was missing the punched hole for the lower trim bracket so i had to make a new hole and push in the small bushing, the other small issue that i had was at the top middle where the upper stainless trims sit in the middle area of the top, i had to make a small slice straight across the weather strip, i used the old weather strip for a guide not to go too deep, just enough for the trim to slide in leaving the small 1 inch or so gap between them. You said you dont have any center holes "punched"? I would double check your weatherstrip and make sure its the one for stainless trim, the Chevs that came without the stainless would not have the center holes punched and i dont think they have the openings for the top trim to sit within the moulding.
