installed new master cylinder and dual booster had to cut rod to lower the pedal benched bled the cylinder now when i apply brakes pedal won't return all the way up and brakes still grabbing must pull pedal up with toes any ideas or anyone who can fix this problem in winnipeg thx
hi thier is no return spring the rod you cut pushes the master cyl in and the brake pressure pushes it back
You're right. Before I looked at my car,I found a diagram of the brake pedal in the Beaumont Shop Manual,p.5-13 and it sure looked like a return spring.I just went and had a look under the dash and couldn't see anything resembling a spring unless it's above the plate above the pedal. One end of that rod is held inside the cylinder and only comes out so far.The other end is attached to the brake pedal and the pedal will only come back as far as the rod will let it.If the pedal looks like it should come out further, maybe you could glue the chunk you cut off back on.LOL.Good luck.
pedal pushes back but brakelights stay on will try to reset switch hope this works this all happenedwhen i changed booster and mastercylinder pedal was way to high so we cut the rod to lower pedal brakes not dragging anymore got the rod setup inmaster cylinder he called it stroking hopefully reseting switch will fix all
