I just set mine to 5:00 and left it. How does that song go - It's 5:00 somewhere.

Thank's everyone for all the inputs. I'll try the wd40 solution and see. I'll check the coil and sand the contacts .

I did the WD-40 trick on the 52's clock, I manually spun the clocks movements a full 12 hrs just after I sprayed it to make sure everything was cleaned up, its been working good and keeping proper time for a week now.

Well, I proceed with the lub and I think there is a problem somewhere else.

As soon as put the voltage on, this clock  acted  like a stopwatch. the second hand is spining so fast , I can hardly see it. the minute and hour hands are turning fast too. an hour pass in a few seconds.LoL.

. . I found that 9 times out of 10 all you need to do is open it up, gently clean the gears and shft areas and then lubricate with something very lite like WD 40. . Most often the problem is gunk on the shafts and tubes that lead out the second, minute and hour hands. .

Your car's not a DeLorean is it? You might need to adjust the flux capacitor.

. . I repaired two '66 Pontiac clocks. . Was simple. . They almost always stop just because they get dirty inside. . Just open up the back and spray with WD-40 or CRC-26. . Let sit a while and do it again. . Both of mine have been running ever since. .
