Beaumont Police Cars

Does anyone know of any Beaumont Police cars?

Edmonton City Police had a fleet of 67 Beaumonts 4 dr sedans.

283, PG, 4 piston Disc brakes, 5"x 14" DA code rally wheels.

Rally caps were same as 70 Pontiac 2+2

Zippered headliner with hidden clips, calibrated speedo increments for each mile,

Additional woven seat covers with billy club pockets over black interior, forward dome light.

Most were ghost cars in a variety of colours.

Interesting info on Canadian cop cars. I didn't know there was a Beaumont police package. There's always more to learn - thanks for sharing.

If I remember right it was an Edmonton city ghost car so they probably were able to make their own choices.

Very cool,, kinda on the same note.. Prince Albert SK, where I live, the City Police just bought a  GHOST TRUCK, new grey 4 dr dodge. mini LED blue and reds.. the thing looks like 20 other trucks at any given time...  freakin stealth !!

I'm sure the Dodge truck is not a factory spec police package.
Just a truck off the local dealers lot.
At the same time Edmonton City police also had 1967 Canadian made Chevelle 300 series factory police package cars identical to Beaumont factory police package.
Back then there was no distinct exterior paint themes.
Some cars just had simple "city police" written on front doors in whatever exterior colour ordered.
I believe most were ghost cars.
The RCMP had purple & white theme in the 60's early 70's.

Currently have one (Maroon) Beaumont Police car stored outside on a farm.
I parted out another Beaumont (bright Blue) & Chevelle (turquoise) with police package in the 80's.
At the same time there was another Beaumont (Mountain Green) still running around Edmonton.
I haven't seen it since.
The tach in picture is a spare.

Welcome aboard Glen from another old Canadian ghost car owner!
If you've got your GM Vintage services info is Z04, B01 or BO7 equipment noted?
Love to see pics of your Cowl tag and any paperwork also any chance your frame is the boxed style?

Although no Beaumonts, there's a few pics of old Edmonton units in this link including one of a 64/65 Chevelle.

Looking forward to learning more about these special cars!

I will check frame & cowl tag next time near car.
I'm sure the restored EPC 64 chevelle malibu was just a regular production unit.

agreed , the truck will not be 'police package'  but off the lot.  the rest of their new fleet are Chargers...police packages

I am pretty sure that is the identical speedo head used in a 66 or 67 GTO. It looks VERY familiar...

Fascinating stuff! GM offered a rare police package in 64 & 65 but dropped it after. For 68 police equipment came back after a hiatus, and led to the possibility of a 396 Chevelle 4-door in 68 / 69.

Disc brakes were rare in 67. Imagine a base Beaumont or Chevelle 300 sedan with them, complete with skinny 14x5 Rally Wheels. The base cars already came with rubber floor covering, and all vinyl seats on a sedan were offered only on the base cars in Canada (in the U.S. you could get Malibu Sport Sedans or Sport Coupes with optional all-vinyl).

Glen, it would be great to see that 67 Beaumont sedan of yours restored one day to stock police specs. Too bad the others passed on years ago. No matter. Thanks for sharing!

Good attention to detail Rick.
It appears Tempest/Lemans had 5 mph increments like Beaumonts.
I've noticed GTO's with both types on recent google search.
GTO's had many items to differentiate from Lemans such as taillights.

Years ago my friend put a GTO cluster in his Beaumont and it had the speedo style pictured from the police car. He bought it at a swap meet so we had no idea as to its original application.
