Lower Mainland help needed

Hey people, this post is more for the guys in my area (Richmond, Delta, Surrey, New West, etc).

Changing the springs in my front end, but the passenger side ball joint just keeps spinning as I try to remove the nut. Some of the threads are shot and the ball joint itself has deterioted substantially to the point where it just spins as I Ratchet! Does anyone in the area have a press I could steal for a couple hours, (I'll throw in a case of your favorite beer for your trouble ). Presses run from 100 bucks and up for something I'll probably use just this one time, not really worth it. If anyone can help, please throw me a message.

Thanks

Rich

Rich, just jack up the arm and use a big pry bar or block of wood against the upper arm to compress the taper into the spindle.... And if necessary, work the nut back and forth and it should go....

Yeah, I tried prying before, no go! At this point I'll have to grind the bolt off, and replace the joint! Just need the tool!!

Thanks for the help tho!

Did you "warm" up the nut?

I don't plan on saving the ball joint, it's toast, bad threads and the rubber is all torn! Just need the tool, or somethn I don't wanna do, take the control arm off and take it to a shop and have them pop it out! I'll keep searching for a little while longer.

I'll keep looking!

What can tire did you go to. I have always been able to get the tools at south point location. Let me know if you want me to check there and grab it

I hear ya Rich , well by having a young family its not in the budget right now (The job I will be getting is about 7K+) , at least I have had mine done for 4 years now so I might be a original who has done it on a muscle car!!

Hope you can make it to my show this Saturday in Delta , seeing it's in your back yard!

Kevin
