Just put my front end back together today, after having just gone through a few weeks of trying to match my original Deepwater blue.
The front header panel and extentions on this car were in really sad shape paint wise, so thinking it would be no big deal to have those parts painted I went looking for a shop. I was refered to a new shop in town run by a young guy who is related to the owner of a high end shop in town. Now the high end shop didn't have the time to do this so hence the referral. I also know the painter in the big shop, and I'll probably be in touch with him soon for advice.
Now the problem is the small shop could not match the 67 Deepwater blue. They tried twice. Now granted, the price I paid was was pretty small, so I'm not too bent out of shape. The paint actually can look perfect depending on the angle, but in the shade as in the picture it looks way too blue. No doubt a real nice shade...if the whole car was done in it. The shop used two different suppliers using the Deepwater Blue code and they were really decent to deal with (my hope was to build a relationship). I know a perfect match will never be possible, but is there a code anyone knows of that will replicate this colour, at least close? It is a blue that is almost Black in some ways.
The car is running great with the new motor, the front end doesn't rattle anymore, the hidaways line up and I'll be happy for the rest of the year.
I'm really leaning towards a complete paint next year (the wife didn't react in shock to the idea and cost!), but in the meantime, has anyone ever redone 67 Deepwater Blue?

Actually it was a dumb question, I know it can with the right person.
There are so many nice shades of dark blue metallic, but the Deepwater still probably suits the big car best, on an angle it looks almost black. I can only Imagine the whole car done new.
