Needs some service to lossen things up. perhaps some cleaning for the volume know (crackles) but what do you want for a cheap unit? I managed to get my hands on some eyebrows for the bezels. Looking forward to them ariving. Will save having to repair the damaged ones.
Today I picked up the cleaned case and parts for the 700R4 as well at all the new bits for inside... Soon will be time to put it back together. Things are coming together now.
So we finally bought a house with a shop and now have a decent place to work on our cars. I have some much needed work to do on both cars. The pontiac has been having issues with carbon and killing plugs. I am not sure the issue yet. 327 250HP with a rochester 4GC carb reman. by holly and its like clock work to when it carbons up plugs and runs like crap... any thoughts? I must have gone wrong somewhere.

A few years ago I resolved a similar problem for a friend with a 69 Chev truck. We went 2 heat ranges warmer with the plugs. His truck ran cool so there was never a concern for run on after shut down.

Years ago I had a 63 SS 327 that always seem to have stalling issues (never drove it outside of Windsor Ontario for ten years) I decided to take it up the 401 to Burlington.
I got to about Tilbury and it backfired so loud I had to pull over.....nothing to see....but after that, it ran smoother and never had any stalling issues again.
I guess all the years of city driving was the problem....and what it needed was a good three hour run on the highway to clear it up.
night so I decided to play in the shop and finish up my interior light project. had to modify the glove box light sockets to a 2 wire setup. re worked the console parts aquired off this site from a couple of fellow members and here we go(excuse the mess, it still needs to be cleaned up.
So if that wasn't enough. n was looking at the rear of the car and noticed that the paint was not great and someone had previously re painted the back panel and covered all the ribs. so i stripped it and taped and repainted the part. Never want to do that again. I will repaint the letters tonight and re-install.

Finished product. Next going to tackle several projects on the front of the car including the mission fire foul plug issues. I am going to try to go up a heat set and going to go to a 180 thermostat from the 160. after we pickup the wagon and get it safely stored for the winter.
My step dad came over on Sunday and we decided to freshen up the front of the convertible. We stripped all the layers of black paint off the grilles and repainted them satin black and when dry but not cured we polished off the fresh paint from the edges of the grille. while waiting for paint to set, we removed the bumper to get the little bumper fillers (that were barely attached) and since there was no way matching the white paint we painted them satin silver and actually put all the screws in the screw holes.
