A friend had a 396/350 in a 68 SD - he claims M22, but everyone always told me M22's at least in the 60's were sort of reserved for solid lifter cars--I've seen hydralic lifter cars in 72 with M22
this car looks good for the money-but it does say 'needs paint' interior clearly needs stuff, engine bay far from stock appearing
This car was offered at $18K awhile back in late June when I talked to the owner. Owner stated that it was missing the original powertrain, but it is a real SS .
Born with a M20, not a M22, and the current block is a 454
Still....good value for a documented SS 4 spd car , providing the frame is still good.
I know I'm into mine ( almost identical car) for much more than what this fellow he is asking , and mine is not even close to being finished !

agreed-this appears to be a 'driver' from an older 'redo' though-so it'll still need done-you're further along the way with a restoration
dont know why he didn`t put the full build sheet in the picture
Can someone find out ? I am curious because the last one I documented from Ste. Therese never had the option code for hide-a-ways on the documents yet it had them. This is one of the most hotly debated topics about SS427 Ste. Theres cars. Technically a Caprice only option however every time an Impala SS427 shows up with hide-a-ways it's built in Ste. Therese.
Total Big Car production with the M22 for 1969 was only 77 cars. As for original L72 cars, 546 were built, and of those 6 came to Canada as new cars. The only 427s installed in Canadian built Big Cars that year were the LS1 & L36. They were building SS427 cars in Canada but all were L36.

a buddy had one of those 6 back in '80, lemans blue L72 4spd biscayne. sadly shortly after he sold it in '81, it burned up in a garage fire

I double checked and it was actually "7" L72 big cars, not 6. I got the figure from the owner of 1 of those 7 cars, Mike Reintjes, who got the figure from VVS.
I can't find the original picture of the car that he e-mailed me back in 2005, but at least I did copy it and crudely doctored it into the way it would have looked when new.
Impala Sport Coupe, SS427, L72, M20, full wheel covers & fender skirts. Today it has Rally Wheels and the skirts are history.

I got the bucket seats out of a 69 427 car. My freind stripped a 69 427 car and gave me the buckets for my Beaumont. He still has the 427. Not sure of the HP of that engine but will have to ask him next time I see him. maybe one of the 7.
