Yeah, my mom and dad adored him and so did the rest of us. Good clean family fun. Seems to me it was Tuesday night at 8:00. We never spent much time in front of the TV but we usually found time for Red.

Have you watched a Red Skelton episode recently? I watched one on a DVD from the library a few months back. I was amazed at how much advertising was embedded into the show. It seemed like the entire show was an ad for a soap company - or was it an insurance company. I remember watching Red as a kid. Red Skelton and Disney on Sunday nights were the big attractions at our house.

As for the electric chair, it's probably one of those ones that help old folks stand up. You just might score some brownie points with the mother-in-law with one of those. She'd be back every weekend.
