1966 Beaumont Custom For Sale(mine)

With mixed emotions I'm offering my 1966 Beaumont Custom For Sale. It would be nice to just tuck it into the corner of the shop for ten years when priorities allow it to rise closer to the top, but I'd rather see someone enjoy it than watch it deteriorate.

The car is a semi survivor 283 PG with just under 71,000 miles, with a minor refreshing(paint color change) in 1989 by the son of the original owner. The car was driven daily in the summers till 1992 when it was put into storage needing brakes and a radiator. The car was sold in 2000 to a new owner, who also never drove the car. I bought the car in late 2009, and with some work returned it to the road in July of this year. I have since put about 2500 miles on it with no real problems.

To get the car on the road I had to replace the original 283 as it has some undetermined internal issue. The car has a replacement 283 with most of the original accessories including the 'as born with' intake and carb. All the original brackets, bolts etc were also reinstalled. I have the original distributor, coil and plug wires as well, with the late 1965 coding.

The car has all new brakes front to back including the steel and flex lines, a re-cored rad, and the original carb re-built. It starts, runs and drives quite well and on one 300 mile road trip averaged 25 miles per gallon.

The body is straight with no obvious prior body work, however it will need quarter patches behind the rear wheels and a drivers side rear body mount with possibly a small patch in the trunk over the mount. All other sheetmetal is good. All the accesories, with the exception of the horn, including the backup lights, work.

The interior(fawn) is original and in good shape, with the exception of the seats which are starting to show their age in the drivers seat area and the top of the back seat.

I have some spare parts including a rust free trunk lid, tailight housings and trim, original full wheel covers and most emblems.

It was my intention to eventually convert the car to a four speed with the correct original parts. I have the pedal assembly, steering column, flywheel and bellhousing and the correct shifter and linkage for the bench seat.

I'm putting it out on CP first as I believe the car will find a good home with members on the site. Asking $10,000 with all spares etc. PM me with questions.

Thanks

Well, Kevin sort of sad to see this thread come up because I know how much time you had spent sourcing various parts to do even more to this car. I realize though we are all at different stages and that time will hopefully come for you again. Good luck with the sale.

Tracking down parts and especially meeting like minded people is all part of the fun too, I love driving the car all the time and a recent change of jobs is going to limit the amount of time I will have to drive it, so I'm just putting it out there. I see to many "garage ornaments" out there that have spent way more time parked than being driven over the years. I won't be heart broken if it doesn't sell thoughsmile
