need help with a 1964 Beaumont

firewall tag info.VIN #'s and codes.Looks like a nice car,it appears to have Spory deluxe emblems where they belong,I don't know what a car like that is worth,I like stock,or original, what's he or she asking?

It looks like it was a SD car,  get the firewall info and color info for sure.

It is missing all the unique and impossible to find SD lower trim

The engine is a total boring mess of summit and jegs mailorder parts, and could be sold off, but  i would not let it reflect the price at all,  unless it is EXACTLY what you want under the hood.

I would seriously look at the interior,  the wheel is original saddle tan,  the door panels have had all the chrome tape sparypainted black.    i am going to take a guess and say the interior was originally saddle tan, and someone,  vinyl dyed the whole thing black.  Those are original SD beaumont seat patterns and door panels tho., and the dash should be flat or semigloss.

Im also noticing an incorrect hurst shifter and a scary cable style gas pedal, which could take some hunting for parts or reconfiguring.

wheels can always be changed to something appealing,  but SD wheel covers will also be impossible to find.

I guess he means a straight/inline 6cyl.  V6 not correct terminoligy

also,  correct to say Saddle Tan,  not saddle brown,   so i am guessing the seller knows nothing about the car,  may want to look over the underside good

no,  vinyl dye will not rub of on your clothes.  it works well, but wears over the years

i think 6cyl SD cars are fairly low production compared to V8s,  too bad its not still saddle tan with saddle interior,  that would be a one of a kind for sure and look way better that now

i am interested in the car but i don't know anything about Beaumonts, seller claims it's a SD

seems to have a 350 with aluminium RHS 200 heads and a TH 350 tranny

what do i need to look for?

anything you guys are noticing from the pictures that don't seem right?

what is a fair price you guys think for this car as it sits?

any help would be very appreciated to point me in the right direction

The SD chrome your missing is next to impossible to find.. and IF you do find it.. be prepared to shell out thousands.. the 64 rocker chrome is pot metal and is pretty much pitted from front to back.. My 65 rocker chrome is bad enough to get and I paid 2k to have it made out of stainless.. I dont think you have that option.
check the rear body mounts (under the trunk pan and behind the wheels) they are always toast.. so if a restoration was done.. these should look great.. check the trunk.. if you know what "poopy" welding or body work looks like.. this is a good place to see it.. around the wheel houses is a common place for cancer..
the rear 1/4 panels are common places for cancer too.. behind the rear wheel is usually where it starts.. and quite often from the inside of the trunk because of trapped dirt that stays wet and wont exit the car through the drain holes because they're plugged.. water can get in through the windows.. check the package tray in the back.. check the dash in the front..

here are some things to consider.. IF you want to make this car an original of some sort..
car doesnt have it's rocker trim - lets put a price of 2500.00 on that.. just for giggles... really it's priceless to someone who needs it.
the interior looks pretty good.
is the w35 on the cowl tag supposed to be an M35? (automatic)

IF you want a fairly cool car that needs no restoration or a lot of work.. then this might be for you.. just note that any beaumont specific parts you may need.. are tough to get. with that in mind.. you may want a chevelle. (sorry to say that, as I'm a beaumont fan, but parts are WAY easier to come by)

hub caps and trim look like the photos here.   this car was selling for 18k.  but I think there was a 64 SD with all the parts on the island here in BC for 5k.. wasnt restored.. but was complete and driveable.

heres a video of one as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6UlIBenceI

Nice car    If its rust free underneath it should be worth 12,500 to 20,000    if its rust underneath  about 5000.00

tks guys for the info, keep it coming , it's very useful

talked to the owner of the car and he told me it's was originally a V6 car

and YES it was saddle brown

the interior was dyed black

i don't know about the process of doing it, but is there a chance for the black to rub off on our clothes? my wife would absolutely kill me if that would happen

he did told me that it was a frame-off 18 years ago and that the 350 was put in only a couple years ago

still have not looked at it myself, so i have no idea what the underneath looks like, but he told me it was in good shape

he is not saying that this is a perfect car or close to it, i think he is not trying to hide anything from me

when I picked it up it had 3 flat tires and the motor was stuck. Got it home and in under 2 hours had the motor running, top down and driving around on the back roads. My brother did a great job finishing what I started
