Yes sir, me too. I just laugh at the whole absurdity. Most of the cars that are sold in the "space orbit" price range, will never see that out in the real world, once they have to be sold again. I just get dizzy after awhile. It is either grossly over priced cars that are no where near that in worth or the exact opposite, where the poor guy does not get what it cost to paint the car. I gave up on the "CIRCUS" awhile ago too. Also for the reason that as the world burns all around us for so many reasons, there the rich boys are spending a quarter of a million dollars on a car that will never be seen by anyone. It all just does not seem to make a whole lot of sense. I try to check out some of the nice restored cars but the lunacy just makes me turn it off after a few minutes. George.

Description
Acadian was a make of automobile produced by General Motors of Canada from 1962 to 1971. The Acadian was introduced so that Canadian Pontiac-Buick dealers would have a compact model to sell in Canada. Plans originally called for the Acadian to be based on the Chevrolet Corvair, which was produced at GM's Oshawa plant, however the concept was moved to the Chevy II platform to be introduced for 1962. Initially, Acadians were re-trimmed Chevy IIs, offered as a base model. The car used Pontiac styling cues such as a split grille but was marketed as a separate make, never as a Pontiac. The name "Canso" was applied to the top-line compact model, equivalent of the Nova. During the muscle car craze in the late 1960s, Chevrolet offered the Super Sport models and in Canada, Acadian offered an equivalent model, the Sport Deluxe, or SD. The Acadian "Canso" Sport Deluxe, offered as a similar package equivalent to the Chevy II Super Sport, which included the same Strato-bucket seats, console, floor shift, along with unique SD trim and emblems. This particular General Motors Acadian has been the recipient of over 2,500 hours of meticulous concours nut & bolt Resto-Mod restoration. It has spent its recent restored life in a museum and private collection and there have been very few miles driven since being rotisserie restored. It is the Canso Sport Deluxe model which was the top-of-the-line and presented as a stock appearance two door hardtop. Finished in the unavailable but very desirable and complimenting Hugger Orange color with striking black interior. Some modern era Resto-Mod upgrades include a professionally built, balanced and blueprinted high performance V8 engine teasing you with almost 500hp. Backed with a performance built GM automatic transmission and a Ford 9" posi-traction differential to make that statement final. Additionally enhanced with rack & pinion steering, power disc brakes and a long list of performance features. It performs and drives as well as it looks and has been awarded Best of Show multiple times. Many Acadians succumbed to rough Canadian winters, suffering from rust and mechanical wear and tear, leaving very few original specimens left, in addition to the fact that production was much lower than equivalent Chevy models. Iron clad original documentation from General Motors supports claim that only 429 specimens of this similar model were ever originally produced. The original owner's manual and a pictorial display are also included. This is one of the finest examples in existence and is being offered to a new owner/collector with confidence.

Never even changed the picture of Acadian!!! thats what i mean't by 6 cars in between the commercials & thats for the whole night. 1st night usually has the cars we might be able to afford, but theres so many breaks 7 interuptions it's a JOKE as said!!!! It's a complete waste of time. When are the sellers going to realize that this "CIRCUS" isn't the right place to sell, I think the Auctions down the street likely are a better bet????

there are tonnes of affordable cars that go accross the block...and having looked at this January's offerings..I think you'll be surprised..that being said, Saturday night will have all the highend cars...of which there are a few..1 being a '71 Hemi Cuda Convertible..1 of 11 built, 1 of 2 for Canadian consumption..wanna guess how much it goes for..oh and it's Plum Crazy in colour as well...my guess is north of 1.5

Another excellent point. I must know more about these cars than i realize, because i have caught countless mistakes over the years by some of these guys on there. Steve on the other hand really knows his stuff. George.

It's because of all those multi-millionaires with tonnes of expendable cash to throw around that the cost of a decent ride is out of the average fellows reach and I'm rather really disgusted that it has gone this far.Come on-it's just a car!!!Yes there are a few that I would love to own,even a decent driver to put in my garage I'd be happy with.And you guys are right,those cars usually never see daylight until the next upcoming auction.Here in Calgary,the son of an owner of a major GM dealership has a '69 Pace car Camaro ragtop that has been through there no less than 3 times.I looked at it and it's missing the original 12 bolt(replaced by a 10 bolt).Still not worth the money either way but that's my 2 cents.I'm going over there tonight possibly and I'll see if I can get some pic's of the cars in his stable.Once again-these cars do not get driven!!!! Let me at them I say-I'll drive 'em alright and hard it will be.

I would disagree with laying blame on the multi-millionares for driving costs up. Trying to build a decent car you realize quickly the costs involved for parts/specialty services/out sourced labour. If recovering a portion of your investment factors into your build you have better picked the "right" car and still quite likely to lose money. Thank goodness for a retired banker/lawyer/CEO that actually wants to shell out his money on an old car and possibly allow you to recover some funds to build another. My opinion but I believe that most exposure has helped the hobby in general with regards to exposing it to another generation. Lets face it there will never be enough L79 Nova's Copo Camaros or 427 Impala's to outstrip global demand..... at least for the near future. If some investor/collector is going to pull out something I haven't seen (or enjoy seeing) into the daylight and run it thru for another investor/collector to buy, I'll enjoy the show.....for what it is. PVR it and skip the commercials and enjoy the moments real gearheads chime in and a few cool cars. Even if many are made of unobtainium.
Been 7 times,heck of a show. Going again in 2013. $65 bucks in advance on internet for senior [55+] one week pass.Cheaper than going to a Canucks game in Vancouver! Let's see, sun, beer, cars and women. The only negative is that Craig Jackson is a jerk! Russo Steele auction is awsome and $ is more realistic for great 60's and muscle cars. Oh yea, they have beer and women there too!

'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
I still like to watch it. Not so much on Saturday and Sunday. It's better now that I figured out how to use the PVR. I can see everything I'm interested in without having to watch them spend 15 minutes on a late model Mustang.
As much as I agree with the to many commercials, as much as I agree with people's opinion about the guy with the sun glasses, as much as I agree that there are lots of mistakes, charity cars are crap and take to much time and I'll throw another one in..."Fantasy Bidding"...it's all for ratings and building hype...I also agree with the people that have been there and say they would go again...When your there, you don't see and hear all the crap...It's one of the best car shows I've ever been to and I look forward to go again...watch it on TV, not interested, I can get better information looking up the cars they auction off on line...NO COMMERCIALS.

Totally agree with you, completely different live. As cheap as entertainment you will find and most of the guys are just regular smucks like me. Awesome selection of venders and biggest variety of vehicles I have ever seen and quite a percentage of them are pretty regular cars. There are lots of vehicles that don't sell on Friday and Saturday. When you don't like what is happening inside you just go outside into the sunshine and wander around looking at some more cars or do some people watching. Sure beats shoveling snow for a week and I say don't knock it until you've experienced it. Night and day difference.
