without the rods, pistons bearings etc. the balanced part doesn't mean much

Well yes & no Jerry. Different rods, pistons, etc. doesn't make it unbalanced, it will only change the balance factor. If it changes the factor by 1 % or even 5%...

It would still be much better than putting in a factory 'unbalanced' crank which could have variances along the length of the crank, IMO

Either way, it is a good part checked out by my machinist (K & S Machine), would be a good start for someone building a 427

Any idea of shipping to Manitoba? I can't imagine the cost of shipping being too friendly but it would be perfect to make my 454 into a 427!

I'm sure it is a fair bit more than 66#, so yes it would have to ride the 52 window coupe, but I have no idea on cost. How far are you from Winnipeg ?

Just 30 miles south of Winnipeg. No problem for me to pick up in Winnipeg if that helps any.

If there is a way to get it to Calgary that would be an option. I have a contact there, as well as Lethbridge. It would be NO rush whatsoever, long term project to build a 427.
