From 1982 84, only Canada got the full-sized Pontiac. Based completely on the Chevrolet Caprice, it was given a different grille insert, taillights, moldings, nameplates, steering wheel & upholstery. In the U.S. they sold the G-body (formerly called A-body) Lemans as a Bonneville for their big car offering. Some U.S dealers were importing the Canadian Parisienne to resell. For 1985 the Parisienne received the rear quarters, fender skirts, trunk, tail lights & bumper from the 1981 B-body Bonneville / Parisienne. The Parisienne was now being officially sold in the U.S. for the first time. They were last produced as 1986 models.
The former A-bodies were redubbed "G-bodies" for 1982 because the new front wheel drive intermediates became the new A-bodies (Chevrolet Celebrity, Pontiac 6000, Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra, Buick Skylark).
