Impala books


We have just started the restoration of a 1964 Parisienne, which is the same chassis as a 64 impala. This is going to be a full on factory correct restoration, so we need all the info on correct bolt colors, as well as correct colors for all the chassis components. Are there any restoration books out there for 63-64 impalas with this information? I know they have books like this for Mustangs...I've searched with no luck so far.

I don't think too many 64 Impala's get "restored"...........they just get "pimped out".

Canadian Pontiacs would have a different paint process than an American Impala anyway.

Also,WHERE your car was built would be an issue,as they built them in about a half dozen plants in America, and Oshawa,as well.

I have several 59 Impala's that were built in as many different plants & there are lots of little differences......especially on the Canadian built cars.....Early & late builds can be different,as well.

If YOUR 64 was Canadian built,you would be able to obtain alot of detail info from the guys here on the forums & or examining some low-mile original 64 Pontacs,as the were built in the same plant as the Chevys were.

          A 64 Impala  would be a good guide...(they have been done  e.g. 409)  

         You do know a factory correct restoratrion, will put you into, several to many times, more cost, than the value of the car?  

         Unless its a one of 5-6 409 4 speeds,  no one will remember what is correct on a Cdn Pontiac
